Sorry, You Do Have to Work

"If you love what you do, you won't work a day in your life."

Yes.

And no.

All too often, we get stuck in the mindset that we must love every minute of every day in order to be truly living our passions and loving what we do.

Now, I'm a huge advocate for searching for what makes you tick, for finding what makes you forget the clock and then living there, in that space. It's beyond important to love what you do. It's beyond important to be passionate every day.

What we forget, is that in order to achieve great things, in order to accomplish our goals, we must also put in some ground work.

We forget that sometimes we have to stick our head in the mud and get dirty, in order to reach the outcome we long for.

I love my job. I love my profession. I love my side business. I love my career.

I am extremely passionate about my path.

And do I love every single minute, every single task?

LOL.

No.

There are certain things I have to do, in order to be able to do what I want to do.

There are financials to go over, meetings to be had, tedious tasks to be done.

And guess what?

I'm not a CEO yet.

And I have a feeling some of you aren't either.

And in order to get there, you need to get a backbone.

"Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life."

How about, "love what you do and you'll enjoy the work of your life."

Work is work, but when you're passionate about it, when you understand the value and outcome of it, work might not feel like work at all.

And the work, well, that's what makes it worth it after all.
